Right Strategies was founded in January 2022 after Morgan Bonwell found a need to help local candidates learn how to run for office. She found candidates did not know what challenges to look out for while running for office; from social media to fundraising to a voter contact plan, Morgan set out to train first-time candidates with the 8-module Campaign Development Series.

Morgan was asked almost immediately to teach candidates hands on instead of through the pre-recorded modules. One client became two then three… Quickly Right Strategies became a full-service consulting firm with the same mission, to help local candidates run how to run for office, amplify their message, and win on election day.

We offer full-service campaign consulting from onboarding conservative candidates to building their infrastructure to a full voter contact plan and execution. The team at Right Strategies is committed to helping YOU WIN.

Morgan Bonwell

Morgan Bonwell, Founder and CEO

Morgan Bonwell is the Founder and CEO of Right Strategies. Morgan grew up in Northeast Iowa on 40-acres with her grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and brother, Wyatt Earl. She learned the value of hard work helping at the family business her Poppy (and inspiration!) launched in 1978. Morgan has spent almost a decade in politics where she became an expert in voter contact at the door and on the phone. After working with the Republican Party of Iowa, at the Iowa State Capitol, and for the Indiana Republican Party, she joined a voter contact firm as a Campaign Director managing voter contact plans for candidates and issue organizations across the nation. She quickly moved up into a Vice President role and was tasked with managing multi-million-dollar clients; giving strategic advice, building relationships, and helping them win their campaigns. In 2022, Morgan set out to start Right Strategies to help first-time conservative candidates. She resides in Altoona, Iowa with her husband Michael, children Beau and Ellie, and dogs Maudie and Maverick. In her free time, she enjoys going “home” to Charles City to spend time with her close-knit family!

Ben Anderson - Project Manager

Ben Anderson is a true product of rural Iowa. He hails from the fourth congressional district of Iowa, the state’s largest district that constitutes over a third of the state’s counties. The district is also one of the country’s most storied Republican stronghold regions. Coming from Webster County, Anderson attended St. Edmond Catholic School from preschool until graduation in 2021. He then attended one year at Iowa Central Community College in the business program, and served as president of the Accounting and Business Club. Anderson has been politically involved since 2019, when he began working in conjunction with a congressional candidate in the fourth congressional district Republican primary in the wake of Representative Steve King being stripped of all of his committee assignments. Anderson has since worked with many local candidates, at the city council, county, state legislature, congressional, and gubernatorial levels. Anderson helped with now Congressman Zach Nunn’s successful 2022 campaign, and then served as Governor Reynolds’s fourth district regional field director in her nearly 19 point re-election victory in 2022. He helped organize and mobilize a grassroots coalition effort on behalf of Governor Reynolds as well as other Republican candidates that resulted in one of the most successful election years Republicans have ever had within the district’s counties. Recently, he attended the prestigious Leadership Institute’s Campaign Leadership College in Washington D.C., and was trained by some of the nation’s biggest figures in conservative politics. In his free time, Anderson is an avid outdoorsman, hunting deer, turkey, ducks, geese, coyotes, squirrels, and nearly anything else, in addition to his hobbies of fishing, ginseng harvesting, and writing.
